Three members elected to HealthyCT Board of Directors

(Wallingford) Members of HealthyCT, Connecticut’s non-profit health insurance CO-OP, have elected policyholders from Newtown, North Haven and South Windsor to serve on the company’s Board of Directors. Two are new to the Board; one has previously served. The official results of the health insurance company’s election were certified by an outside vendor and announced today at www.HealthyCT.org. Nearly 30,000 eligible HealthyCT members who were age 18 or older, and active as of September 30, 2015 were invited to participate in this, the company’s second Board election. The company’s member-led model is unique in Connecticut’s health insurance landscape. The member majority on the Board gives HealthyCT policyholders a direct voice in their health plan and its decisions. “HealthyCT continues to be unique among Connecticut’s health insurance companies in the way we are governed and how we give our members a voice,” said CEO Ken Lalime. “Our company has not only survived but grown during a critical period because of strategic planning.
